The "Philosophisch-Theologische Hochschule Brixen" (Philosophical-theological Academy Brixen) is a school of higher education under the auspices of the catholic church (diocese of Bozen-Brixen). The academy (college) specializes in the study of philosophy and theology.
A four hundred-year old tradition continues at the school, a place where German and Italian culture meet. The academy is the southern-most German theological college and the most northern in Italy.
The academy welcomes a variety of students with personalized attention including those with a research orientation, those seeking continuing education programs and courses for interested laypersons.
Presently there are 236 registered students at the school. 150 of them are regular students and 86 are registered to the "Brixner Theologische Kurse" (Theological courses of Brixen)
